Our compass, in plain words.
The compass points the way: how we build the system in the first place. Short list for now; it will grow.
Rethink time.
AI changes how often things can happen. What used to be monthly, can it be weekly now? What used to be weekly, can it be daily? What used to be daily, can it happen as it comes in?
Faster cycles mean faster learning and fewer surprises.
To get to inbox zero, get to inbox one.
Gather: identify and gather all of your inputs. This isn't the email inbox. This is all of the different inputs into a process. First you have to identify all of the different processes, and then you put them into a filter.
How the system remembers.
Important things are captured daily as simple notes: decisions, lessons, who’s who, what’s next.
Memory is structured to stay current and to help write the future.
Minimize handoffs.
Every handoff adds delay, errors and lost context. So design work with as few handoffs as possible.
This works for any team. A handoff costs the same whether it goes to a person or a bot. When you redesign work with AI, map the path from your team to the customer, count the handoffs, and cut every one you can. The shorter the path, the better the result.
